Let Not Your Hearts Be Worried

My last post, God Protects His People, addressed the worry and panic some Believers felt during the first few weeks of the Wuhan Virus outbreak. I really wanted to emphasize the truth that God has us right where He wants us; don’t worry about finances or catching the virus—just cast your cares onto God and go on about your life.

When you truly know and understand that God’s got this, there is no room in your mind for worry or panic or anxiety to set it. This week, I want to continue the conversation from my last post, so if you haven’t read it yet, click here to catch up on it now.

Yes, its true that God protects His people, but what should you do in the meantime? What happens after prayer time is over? What do you tell your children, spouse, or friends when they look you in the eye and say, what are we going to do?

A scripture I have fallen in love with recently fits this scenario perfectly; let’s look at John 14:1 NIV

Do not let your hearts be troubled, You believe in God; believe also in me.

This is such a simple verse. Do not let your hearts be troubled—do you know what Jesus meant when He spoke those words? He was telling us not to worry!

When you get down on your knees and begin telling your Father God all about your fears and anxieties, you must also remember that the calmness you feel confiding in God doesn’t have to end when prayer time is up. When God says He will provide for you and protect you, He doesn’t just mean for your one-hour prayer session—He means all day long! Every single day!

So when you find yourself beginning to worry as you wait out this outbreak—or any other problem you may face in life—think of this scripture. When someone asks you, what are we going to do? What happens next? How do we get out of this? Your answer may be, I don’t know—and that’s okay! You don’t have to know how God will work things out, but as long as you do know that He will, you can reply, I don’t know, but God’s taking care of it.

Do not let your hearts be troubled! That means NO MATTER WHAT.

Ask yourself this; do you believe in God?

Do you believe God created the heavens and the earth?

Do you believe that God parted the Red Sea for the Children of Israel to pass through?

Do you believe that Noah built an ark according to God’s instruction and survived the flood to repopulate the earth?

Do you believe in Jesus, and that He is the Son of God?

Do you believe that Christ died on the Cross for us and rose again three days later?

Have you accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior and given your life over to Him?

Then why don’t you believe that God can handle your situation right now?

If the God you pray to ever day is the same God who performed the wonders and miracles of the Holy Bible, then why don’t you think He can keep you safe and provide for you?

When you think about it this way, fear has no place in your heart or your mind. When you are filled with faith, there is no room for fear or anxiety or worry or anything else except the firm belief that God’s got this.

Do not let your heart be troubled, my friend, that is a commandment from Christ Himself. When you are troubled, you are not in faith. God doesn’t want you to feel the negative emotions of worry and panic; He wants you to sit back and relax, because He is our Father—a GOOD Father—and He will never let us down.

If you believe that God is still in control, then thank Him right now for your protection and prosperity. We are victorious in ALL things, in Jesus’ name! Believe that, speak that, know that—and don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise!

If you haven’t accepted Christ as your Savior, I urge you to say this prayer out loud right now.

Dear God,

I am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness of my sins. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son and that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I believe in you God, Jesus the Christ, the Holy Spirit, and Jesus’ virgin birth, crucifixion, and resurrection. I want Jesus to come into my heart today, that I may follow You as Lord, from this day forward. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

If you just prayed that prayer, welcome to the Body of Christ! You’re a born-again Christian now and you are covered under the Blood of Christ Jesus.
