Spotlight: Christian YouTuber and Chef

In January 2019 I took a DNA test to identify my ancestry. I’d always known I came from African descent but according to older relatives my family was also made up of Native Americans, Latinos, and even Irishmen. The results of this DNA test were crucial to me; for the first time in my life I was going to know exactly who I was.

According to findings delivered by Ancestry DNA, my family lineage consists of a combination of African, Native American, German, and even Irish roots—the largest percentage being Cameroonian and Nigerian. Thus, began my journey of self-discovery as I dived into African cuisine, culture, and even clothing. It was on this road that I met Precious Meshi Nkeih, a Christian Cameroonian food blogger and at-home chef.

While looking for Cameroonian recipes, I stumbled across a few YouTube videos posted by Precious and before I knew it, I was clicking through her website, reading recipe after recipe. It wasn’t until I found her personal blog that I realized there was so much more to this amazing woman than recipes for delicious African foods.

According to the bio on her website, Precious was born in Cameroon, a West African country, in the late 1980’s and currently lives in the United States. She enjoys cooking and being a mother and wife, but she also enjoys cultivating her relationship with Christ Jesus her Lord and Savior.

Precious has been a Christian for the last 14 years and avidly shares details of her faith and life as a Christian mother and YouTuber on her blog. As a fellow Christian Cameroonian woman, I was so excited to see just how much I had in common with someone I truly looked up to. The Rebel Christian is passionate about finding and showcasing Christian artists of all backgrounds, so it is my pleasure to introduce each and every reader to this wonderful woman.

It is incredibly important for us as Christians to show support for each other; shop at Christian owned businesses, eat at Christian owned restaurants, watch Christian movies, listen to Christian music—why aren’t you doing all these things already!? Sometimes it is difficult to find Christian owned businesses, etc. Many Believers do not put their faith on display for fear of losing customers or, in some cases, being sued and slandered by the media—let me remind you that God is our provider, when you honor Him, He will honor you [I Samuel 2:30]. But for anyone looking to show their support, I strongly encourage you to use the form at the bottom of this page to subscribe to my newsletter. Every week I showcase a Christian talent, maybe you’ll find your new favorite author or maybe you’ll be featured yourself!

For now, please take the time to check out what Precious has to offer; you can visit her website and discover delicious recipes for traditional African cuisine or you can revisit American classics like apple pie, shortbread cookies, and even an assortment of salads specifically designed to assist with weight-loss. Enjoy encouraging blog posts from a busy Christian mother and leader or watch Precious cook in her very own kitchen! She has dozens of instructional food videos posted on YouTube, I hope you watch and enjoy!

If you are a Christian artist of any kind or you know of a Christian artist you would love to see featured here, please take a look at my submissions page for instructions on how to query. Be sure to follow The Rebel Christian on Twitter and Instagram for updates and posts on featured artists.
